BiteStops helps visitors discover food trucks and food truck events. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information on BiteStops websites operated by us, including bitestops.com and the testing website staging.bitestops.com, where applicable. Some features may not be available on both sites. We will update this policy when additional services are activated.
Information we collect
When you submit a food-truck listing, event information, correction, or advertising inquiry, we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, business or truck name, cuisine, business description, publicly designated business contact details, service areas, locations, schedules, menus, website or social-media links, requested advertising placement, and supporting information. Please do not submit sensitive personal information.
Our website and hosting systems may also process technical information needed for security and operation, such as IP addresses, browser and device details, page requests, timestamps, and error or security logs. We use safeguards against spam and abuse, including form validation, a hidden anti-spam field, and temporary submission-rate limits. Hostinger hosts the website. WordPress may use cookies for administrator sign-in; Polylang supports our English and Spanish pages.
How we use information
We use submitted information to review and manage food-truck and event listings, evaluate advertising inquiries, respond to requests, verify or correct business information, administer the service, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable law. We may contact submitters about their requests.
New food-truck submissions and advertising inquiries generate private administrative email notifications to the BiteStops administrator. These notifications may include the submitted business or truck name, contact email, selected advertising placement (when applicable), and a link to review the private record in WordPress. They are operational alerts and do not automatically publish, approve, reserve, or purchase any listing or advertising placement. The website’s email-delivery systems process these messages as needed to deliver them.
What may appear publicly
Food-truck listings and events are reviewed before publication. If approved, public business information—such as truck name, cuisine, business description, public contact details, business website, social links, service areas, event information, locations, and schedules—may appear on BiteStops. Approved sponsors or advertisers may have their business name, descriptions, and links displayed in clearly identified featured or sponsored placements.
Private correspondence and contact email addresses entered in private submission or advertising-inquiry fields are not automatically shown on the public website. Information explicitly provided and approved for a public business listing may be displayed as public contact information. Submitting a listing or inquiry does not result in automatic publication.
Service providers and external websites
Hosting, operational email, security, mapping, analytics, or advertising providers may process information according to the services actually enabled and their applicable terms. Third-party links to food trucks, venues, directions, and other websites lead to services outside our control; review their privacy notices independently.
Cookies, analytics, and search performance
Google Analytics is not enabled on the BiteStops staging site as of this policy’s effective date. Our current Cookie preferences control stores an acceptance or rejection of optional analytics in your browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. This preference does not itself activate Google Analytics or send your selection to Google. You may change it using Cookie preferences in the footer. Clearing browser storage or using another browser may reset your selection.
Google Analytics and Google Search Console are planned for the public website but must be configured and checked before activation. If Analytics is enabled, it may collect page views, interactions, referral information, and browser or device data, and may use cookies such as _ga, depending on settings and your choices. Before activation, we will document the actual cookies, consent behavior, retention settings, and any advertising features. We do not intend to send private submission fields or directly identifying contact information to Analytics. Search Console provides information about search queries, indexing, impressions, and clicks and is separate from on-site Analytics tracking. We do not submit staging pages for search indexing.
For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, the Google Privacy Policy, and Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google advertising products, including AdSense, are not currently part of this website’s enabled analytics plan. If we enable additional advertising technology, we will update the relevant disclosures and controls.
Retention and security
We retain approved business information while the listing is maintained, and retain private submissions, inquiries, and correspondence as reasonably needed for review, follow-up, preventing abuse, or legal and operational purposes. There is currently no fixed automatic deletion schedule for private staging submissions. Technical logs and backups follow the hosting provider’s settings; removing information from the active website may not immediately remove backup copies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may request that we review, correct, or delete information about you, subject to applicable legal, security, and recordkeeping requirements. Contact nikoinc@gmail.com. We may need reasonable verification before acting on a request. Where applicable law provides additional privacy rights, we will handle those requests as required.
Children
BiteStops is a general-audience food-truck discovery service and is not directed to children under 13. Please do not submit children’s personal information through our forms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and services change. We will display an effective date and communicate material changes when required by applicable law.

Listing claims and truck photos
Owner requests may include a contact name, business email, role, business link, ownership explanation and an optional truck photo. These requests are stored for private administrator review. Uploaded photos are processed to remove image metadata and kept encrypted while awaiting review. An approved truck photo may be published on the business listing; private contact details and ownership evidence are not shown publicly. Submitting a claim does not automatically verify ownership or grant editing access.
Advertising inquiries and campaign measurement
Advertising inquiry contact details and approval records are private and reviewed by BiteStops administrators. Approved campaign artwork, messages and business links may be published for the agreed dates. If you accept analytics, we count aggregate ad views and button clicks by campaign, day, page and language. Temporary measurement receipts expire after ten minutes; a short-lived hashed network identifier limits abuse. We do not treat clicks as confirmed visits or purchases. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from viewing ads.
